Yay for monday mornings! (I can say that because I don't have to go to work in the morning).I always feel so refreshed and motivated after sunday! I'm ready for a new week! I've read the news, played my geeky geography games (you may laugh, but thanks to these games I can place Burkina Faso and the Republic of Macedonia on a map, can you?) and now I'm blogging and brownie-ing- if thats even a verb. I would like it to be one! It makes eating brownies sound much more active than it really is and I should be at yoga right now...oops. I am planning on going tonight though if you believe me.
So yesterday Mike and I were talking about ways to use our time more efficiently. Do you ever have days where you feel like you should've accomplished a lot for all the time and effort you spent but you didn't? That would be me a lot of the time. My harp professor at RAM and I decided that I am an Inefficient Hard Worker a lot of the time. Not a good feeling! When you go to bed exhausted and you feel that you've worked like crazy, seeing that most of your 'to-dos' are still on the list at the end of the day doesn't feel great. Although, that was then for me. Now, I just happen to have a lot more time than I've ever had in my life and I want to ensure I'm using it wisely (cough, cough, NOT online and brownie-ing).
Mike said his mom was once in a homemaking class where they had an assignment to document what they did every 15 min for a week (or a day, ha I can't remember). Anyway, maybe 15 min is overkill but I'm sure the results would be interesting! At the end of the day you could truly review how you spent your time and see where improvements could be made. Of course relaxation is a must in order to be productive and happy but I'm pretty sure there's a bit too much of that going on in my life sometimes or even that some of my to-dos take much longer than they need to. At the very least, it would just be interesting to see where the majority of my time is invested. I'm thinking I'm going to try it out this week. Maybe it'll be a big wake up call for me. Maybe I'm being too hard on myself and it won't be as shocking as I expect. We'll see! (I may go for 30 min. though. 15 may drive me mad). I'll keep you posted on the results!
